Event Details

The Paris-Bourbon County Library is celebrating the Freedom to Read Day of Action with a celebration of classic books! Make your own “Freedom to Read” buttons and bookmarks at the library, and enjoy a reading of “Charlotte’s Web” by E.B. White.  “Charlotte’s Web” was challenged in a school district in Kansas in 2006 due to the presence of talking animals and themes of death. Despite this challenge, “Charlotte’s Web” remains a beloved children’s book about the importance of friendship and seeing the good in everyone. Listen to the live reading, or participate yourself – sign up to read a chapter!
